Starting on June 10, OU professor Jeremy Short will teach “Introduction to Management,” which will use his graphic novel, “Atlas Black: The Complete Adventure,” as one of the texts.

As first reported in The Oklahoman, a study by Short and co-author Aaron McKenny recently showed students retained information better using a graphic novel versus a traditional textbook. The Introduction to Management class will be offered online free. OU students can also take a for-credit option paying standard tuition and using the normal course registration process. The only cost for others is for two books used in the class. Those can be purchased new for less than $100 total.

Short said he will use real-world examples from Oklahoma to showcase the progress of Oklahoma small businesses to the rest of the world. Short has co-authored both traditional as well as graphic novel works including a Harvard Business Case in graphic novel format and the “Atlas Black” graphic novel.
