MOORE — First United Methodist Church of Moore held its first service Nov. 4 in the church's new Christian Life Center, 201 W Main.
Groundbreaking for the building was March 28, 2010, and the building was just recently completed. Church officials said about 450 people attended Sunday's service, which began in the church's existing sanctuary.
Multiple uses
The new 18,066-square-foot Christian Life Center has two floors with offices, classrooms, restrooms that double as safe rooms, a full kitchen and a multipurpose area that can be used for worship and recreation. Currently, only rooms on the ground floor are being used.
The Rev. Tish Malloy, the church's senior pastor, said of the Christian Life Center being open: “I'm excited. The spirit of God is in this place.”
