Fishing derby for children ages 5 to 15 set at Little River Park

MOORE — Children ages 5 to 15 wanting to learn to fish or who want more practice can attend a fishing derby Aug. 4.

Check-in and registration are at 7:30 a.m. at Little River Park, 700 SW 4.

Ponds at the park will be stocked with channel catfish.

State Department of Wildlife Conservation officials will conduct a fishing clinic at 8 a.m. covering safety, knot-tying, fish identification, fish cleaning and ethics.

Participants must attend the clinic to fish and should bring poles and bait. The derby starts at 8:30 a.m.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
