The lungs are two of the most important organs in the human body, and it is important to take care of them. That is why October has been named Healthy Lung Month.

More than 30 million Americans suffer from some sort of lung disease. Factors that affect the lungs include asthma, allergies, air pollution and smoking. Keeping your lungs healthy is an important part of overall health.

While all of the factors listed above can cause unhealthy lungs, the No. 1 cause is smoking. Several things will help ensure healthy lungs, including quitting smoking and regular exercise.
