Dirty Girl Mud Run

is set for Saturday

The Oklahoma City Dirty Girl Mud run will run Saturday, rain or shine, at Extreme OKC, 3501 NE 10. The first wave of runners will go at 8 a.m., the last at 4 p.m.

The Dirty Girl Mud Run is a women-only national mud run series. The untimed obstacle course welcomes women of all ages and athletic abilities.

Women ages 14 and up are encouraged to participate, and cancer survivors run for free.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Dirty Girl's official partner; in 2013, Dirty Girl aims to deliver more than $500,000 in support.

Preeclampsia walk set

The Oklahoma City Promise Walk for Preeclampsia will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 11 at Earlywine Park, Small Shelter, 3033 SW 119 in Oklahoma City.

The Promise Walks are a national event taking place in more than 100 cities across the U.S. All monies raised go to the Preeclampsia Foundation, a nonprofit organization, founded in 2000 to bring preeclampsia survivors and their families together for support, education and research.

This is the second year for the Oklahoma City Promise Walk for Preeclampsia, which will feature a 2-mile walk, a mini “rugged men in heels” race, music, refreshments and raffle, plus a children's area with clowns, face painting, games and balloon animals. An end-of-the-day balloon release for those lost to preeclampsia will close the event.

Bowel disease Q&A scheduled

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America-Oklahoma Chapter will have a free informational presentation and question-and-answer session from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at in room B3 of the Samis Family Education Center, 1200 Children's Ave. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.
