Resolve to succeed

Do you make New Year's resolutions? Most have made our share, yet 2013 has passed with many unfulfilled. Rather than setting yourself up for failure, start small. What do you want most in 2014? To lose weight, be more patient, manage your finances, declutter your home? Begin with realistic goals. Make one healthier food choice a day or take a few extra steps. Try belly breathing before overreacting or experiencing frustration in traffic. Create a budget or save $5 to 10 a week. Straighten one room or a corner. Regardless of what you would like to change, be kind to yourself. Express gratitude, learn to forgive and never forget to laugh. Happy 2014!

Art museum, yoga studio partner for program

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art and The Mat's Edge yoga studio are partnering to offer yoga and Pilates to the museum. Classes begin in January and run through April. This series of classes is designed for beginner and novice practitioners of yoga. Classes are available for children of different ages, adults and for mothers with their babies.

“Offering these classes with the Mat's Edge within the museum's galleries provides an opportunity to experience the art in a new way that combines the mind, body and spirit,” Chandra Boyd, senior associate curator of education for the museum, said in a news release.
