Jones is the more battle-tested of the two teams, but Blanchard's defense has been stout.

Most intriguing matchup

Class 3A No. 5 Blanchard (6-0) at Jones (5-1)

Why bother: The Lions haven't been tested much, with a 30-7 win over Lindsay in the second week of the season being Blanchard's closest game so far. Jones is a bit more battle-tested, falling to Perkins-Tryon in the season opener and picking up wins over Hennessey and Oklahoma Christian School all in the season's first three weeks. These two and Tuttle will battle it out the next few weeks for the district championship. The teams feature two of the top passers in Class 3A in Jones' David Cornwell (1,151 yards, 13 touchdowns, 2 interceptions) and Blanchard's Brock Lamle (1,109, 18, 2).

The pick: Blanchard 26, Jones 21

Blanchard's defense hasn't given up more than 14 points in a game. Jones hasn't scored fewer than 26 points in a game other than that loss to Perkins. The Lions will get pushed much more than they have so far, but when it's all said and done, Blanchard holds on to remain undefeated. Lamle will have to account for Jones' Randal Case, though. Case has six interceptions already this season.

Other top attractions

Norman (5-1) at Class 6A No. 8 Southmoore (5-1)

Plot: These teams were thought to have been going in different directions at the start of the season. Norman figured to be in a rebuilding mode. Southmoore looked to be improved from last year's 5-6 season, but it wasn't clear how improved they'd be. After a season-opening loss to Norman North, though, Norman has reeled off five consecutive wins and has scored 45 or more points in each of the last three weeks. Southmoore's only loss came to Edmond Santa Fe in a game where it scored 37 points. The SaberCats' offense might be the best in Class 6A right now.

Starring: Norman's Zach Long has been outstanding at quarterback through the first six games, leading the Tigers' offense to a big start even with the loss of several big-time offensive weapons from last year. Southmoore's offense has been fairly balanced with Karltrell Henderson leading the way with 756 rushing yards so far.
