Five people die after Oklahoma traffic accidents

Five people died Thursday and Friday in crashes across the state, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Five people died Thursday and Friday in separate crashes across the state, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Three people who died Thursday in a crash on the Indian Nation Turnpike in Pushmata County remained unidentified Friday night. A Wakita woman was killed in a three-vehicle wreck in Enid on Thursday, and an 11-year-old girl died Friday afternoon in a collision in Beckham County.

Two tractor-trailer rigs collided shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday on the Indian Nation Turnpike near Antlers in Pushmataha County.

Both rigs were northbound when the driver of one tried to make a U-turn and was struck by the second rig, trooper said.

One person in the first rig and two in the second truck died in the crash. No names have been released.

Barbara Ann Morgan, 82, of Wakita

About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Morgan was a passenger in a car that was struck by a pickup. After being hit, the car struck another car stopped at a stop sign, Morris said.

Morgan was taken to an Enid hospital where she was pronounced dead, Morris said.

Unidentified 11-year-old girl

About 4:30 p.m., a vehicle driven by Cathy Baker, 29, of Tishomingo, was traveling south on State Highway 6 and attempted to turn left onto State Highway 152.

The vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer driving north on SH 6, troopers said. Baker was taken to an Elk City hospital and released. A 12-year-old girl was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital, and an 11-year-old girl died at the scene, troopers said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. the 11-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
