Flaming Lips play "Fallon," Wayne Coyne plays "Pictionary"

The Flaming Lips appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday and performed multiple duties with implied nudity. Like they do.

First, Wayne Coyne and the band played “Try to Explain” from “The Terror,” and then Coyne brought out his baritone for a spot-on cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes.” Coyne was at least semi-naked and wrapped in those fiber-optic glow tubes he’s been using since the “Terror” tour began, which covered up, er, Lil Wayne.

But the coup de grace came when Coyne played “Pictionary” with Jimmy Fallon, Julie Bowen of “Modern Family” and Demi Lovato. You can just imagine the NBC Standards and Practices team waiting to throw the power switch at Rockefeller Center when Coyne steps up to easel with marker in hand. In the end, Coyne plays a mean “Pictionary,” and robots, jelly, Jesus, bugs, spiderbites or boxing nun puppets didn’t even come up in this round.
