The appetizer lump crab louis wraps ($9.95), is a generous portions of crab and avocado with shaved egg, tomato and bacon wrapped in butter lettuce which melts in the mouth. Complementary bread enthused with rosemary comes hot to the table, along with flavorful cheese spreads.
Not that you can't still get the old gut-busters. The steaks are ever-popular of course and cost between $30 and $42.50. The sides serve two and servers recommend two share one starch and one vegetable. The chipotle cheddar macaroni and cheese ($8.50) is delicious.
A steakhouse wouldn't be a steakhouse without classic desserts like cheesecake and, créme brulee, but the real star is the chocolate lava cake ($10.50). It's dense chocolate pudding, rich chocolate sauce, pistachios, ice cream, sugar wafer and raspberries all at once, and feels more like three deserts than one.
A half-dozen different cuts of meat, market price seafood and 100 wines may seem daunting, but the servers are knowledgeable enough to guide you through the menu. If you want to try more than one wine you can order a flight, three smaller glasses of your choice. If you're eating three courses I recommend tailoring a flight to complement each course.
Reservations are suggested at Fleming's, but you can usually get a table with a short wait at any but the busiest times. Dress is business casual.
