TULSA -- Emergency responders used boats to rescue at least 11 people from floodwaters in Tulsa County.

A Tulsa County Sheriff's Office search and rescue unit responded Tuesday to a call from a family near Sperry who became trapped in their home near Bird Creek.

Deputies reached the home in boats and encountered water currents estimated at 15 mph, said Capt. Bill Bass.

"That's enough to push a human down the road," Bass said. "The water in their yard was waist- to chest-deep."

Deputies said the two women, a teenage girl and their pets were not injured.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol rescue unit used an airboat to save an elderly man who was trapped in his vehicle by high water about 3 p.m. near Skiatook.

Troopers then used another boat to rescue seven residents and a dog in western Tulsa County. No one was injured, troopers said.

Ummm...it floods there all the time. I think these residents should consider a new address.
