One of the pieces of suspense for OU's recruiting class entering signing day was taken care of pretty quickly when St. Petersburg (Fla.) Gibbs cornerback Gary Simon chose the Sooners on Wednesday morning.

Simon (6-foot-1, 177 pounds) chose Oklahoma over Iowa State and Arkansas.

The Sooners' interest in Simon came late, with Mike Stoops making him a target after his arrival.

A Sooners class that looked thin on defense a week ago has evened out with the recent additions of Zack Sanchez, a cornerback who had been committed to Baylor, and Michael Onuoha, the Edmond Santa Fe defensive end who chose the Sooners over Missouri on Tuesday night.

Other players who the Sooners could add to their class by the end of the day are junior college wide receiver Courtney Gardner and running back Damien Williams.
