Florida schools ban Valentine's Day gift exchanges

Putting a damper on what can be one of the most festive days for high-school students, at least two Orange County high schools are banning Valentine's Day gift exchanges.

Lake Nona High School Principal Margaret Nampon sent a message to parents Wednesday that students will not be allowed to carry balloons or other gifts such as teddy bears and flowers to class Thursday, Valentine's Day. Any students who arrive at school with those items will be required to leave them in the administrative offices during the school day. Deliveries will be rejected.
