Colder air brings end to colors

The early freeze put an end to the colorful fall gardens. Just as the annual begonia and salvia were responding to the cooler nights, they were zapped.

It's still too early to plant Holland bulbs, so continue planting pansies, dianthus, snapdragons, ornamental cabbage and kale.

The small violas are charming in front of a birdbath or in front of a large rock.
