The Thanksgiving donation was from Cherokee Nation Entertainment, which operates Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and Cherokee Casinos.

The turkeys were distributed to Food Bank partner agencies to give to needy Oklahomans.

The timing was excellent, said Dawn Burroughs, a spokeswoman for the food bank. Demand for food goes up during the holiday season, and this year is no different.

"The demand for food in general is at an all-time high,” she said.
