Oklahoman judges campfire event
ADA — Leah Lyon of Ada recently served as a judge for the Southwest regional Redwood Creek Wines Campfire Classic, held along the banks of the Trinity River in Fort Worth, Texas. Lyon was the 2007 national grand-prize winner in that contest.

"I had the unique honor of tasting four fantastic dishes that represented the flavors and cooking of our region very well,” Lyon said of her judging duties. She helped select Swordfish a Roux Turtle Packs, entered by Plano, Texas, resident Lisa Williams, who now moves to the contest's finals. The "turtle packs” were foil packets filled with a swordfish fillet, vegetables and condiments cooked in the campfire.
