Canebrake to host special dinner
WAGONER — The Canebrake Resort and Spa, 33241 E 732 Road, will host a special five-course dinner on June 12, with room discounts available.
The 75-Mile Dinner will feature special guest chefs Amanda Jane Simcoe and Valarie Carter with sommelier Jeanne Wilson joining chef-owner Sam Bracken for the event.
Cost for the dinner is $65, or $85 with wine. Accommodations are available with dinner reservation for $180 (regularly $244) for a king suite, $160 (regularly $224) for a queen suite, or $85 (regularly $159) for a retreat room.

Chisholm Trail & Crawfish fest
set for Saturday
YUKON — The annual Chisholm Trail & Crawfish Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Kirkpatrick Family Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Blvd.
The family event celebrates the Western history of the Chisholm Trail, with a fun Cajun flair.
The festival includes living history re-enactors of the Old West, Indian teepees, authentic Cajun foods, a live Cajun band, Cajun dance lessons, crawfish racing, a crawfish-eating contest, pie-eating contest, a Civil War demonstration, gunfights, food vendors, craft booths, the Kids Kreative Korral, pony rides, a petting zoo and goat grab.
Oklahoma was included in the Louisiana Purchase, which relates to crawfish and other great Louisiana-inspired dishes. Chef Clint Eaves will prepare a menu of authentic Cajun foods, including a boiled crawfish plate with corn on the cob, boiled potato and smoked sausage; Louisiana gumbo with rice, red beans with rice, crawfish jambalaya, shrimp etoufee, blackened chicken sandwich with chips, fried alligator bites, Cajun boudin and Southern bread pudding with rum sauce. The event also will include a variety of food vendors The pie-eating contest is at 1 p.m.; the crawfish-eating contest at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
