Canebrake lines up summer events
WAGONER — The Canebrake Spa and Resort, 33241 E 732 Road, will host several events in July, including a fireworks celebration Thursday, its annual Patio Pig Roast and Luau and a monthly cooking class.
The fireworks celebration includes restaurant hours 5:30 to 8 p.m., live music on the lawn from 8 to 10 p.m. and fireworks at dark.
The annual Patio Pig Roast & Luau is from 6 to 9 p.m. July 17 and includes music, summer cocktails and lots of roasted pork. Cost is $65 per person. Reservations are required.
The monthly cooking class with chef de cuisine Sarah Leavell is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26. The focus is on Porter peaches. Cost is $45 per person and includes a light lunch, recipes and a tasting of every item prepared. Reservations are required. Blackberry Festival set
MCLOUD — The annual Blackberry Festival is Friday at Veterans Park, 215 S 6 St.. Activities include a carnival, car show, poker run, fireworks, children’s games, live music and much more. Festivities will be from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday.
Huckleberry Festival time
JAY — The annual Huckleberry Festival will take over town on Saturday. Festivities include a 5k run, car show, carnival and a parade, which begins at 10 a.m. Events will be citywide, along with stands with huckleberry snow cones, huckleberry lemonade and huckleberry milkshakes. The hog fry will supply barbecue. Old-fashioned games include horseshoe pitching, a turtle derby, tricycle race, water balloon relay race and a root beer chug-a-lug contest.
