Food Dude: Dining for dad
There's something about paternity that changes a man's relationship with his dress socks.
My dad spent many afternoons in our yard wearing a bad hat, worse shorts and dress socks and the wingtips that had fallen out of the work rotation. (Shoes weren't thrown out, only relegated to yard work.)
He wasn't alone in this behavior; I saw it all the time up and down Lost Creek Boulevard in suburban Austin, Texas ....
