Food Network’s band of merry food trucks from the upcoming season of “The Great Food Truck Race” are in town filming this weekend.

If it makes you wish the H&8th Night Market would pop up a  week early, you’re not alone. Unfortunately, because the show’s producers couldn’t guarantee how long the trucks would sit still in front of Ludivine and Elemental Cafe, it’s not going to happen.

You might remember “The Great Food Truck Race” as the show that awarded Big Truck Tacos $10,000 for winning a contest decided by online voters during the show’s first season. While the money was great, Big Truck was not subsequently invited to compete on the second season.

As for the season currently in production, I can tell you competitors include Middle Feast Food Truck, Lone Star Chuck Wagon and Military Moms, Let There Be Bacon, Beach Cruiser, Madres are among the competitors, which recently hit Austin for the show. I do know the trucks will be at the Buy For Less on NW Expressway and Portland on Saturday during the day. I have an inkling they will cruise Bricktown later that night, and don’t be surprised to see them circling the Cox Convention Center seeking hungry graduates.

All the aforementioned trucks are Twittered and Facebooked up, so find them their for minute-by-minute updates.
