NORMAN — Boys and girls ages 8 to 14 are learning the basics of football this week at a city-sponsored camp led by University of Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach Jay Norvell.
Norvell and a team of assistants are helping youngsters develop such skills as passing, tackling, punting and kicking at the Whittier Recreation Center. The camp is sponsored annually by the city's Parks and Recreation Department.
Classes from 9 a.m. to noon will continue through Thursday.
Enrollment remains open for other summer sports camps focusing on basketball, cheer and tumbling, strength and conditioning, and speed and agility. For more information, call 292-9703.
