OKLAHOMANS are fortunate to have a capable nominee who can replace the scandal-plagued incumbent labor commissioner.

Brenda Reneau, the Republican, has excellent professional preparation for distinguished public service at the Department of Labor. Both workers and employers - in short, voters in general - can support Reneau with full confidence that she will bring evenhanded law enforcement to this important job.

She contrasts sharply with Dave Renfro, the incumbent Democrat.

A third of his employees are on the verge of mutiny, objecting to his favoritism, biased enforcement, and the sexual tensions in their daily working environment.

Renfro is an embarrassment to all Oklahomans, including labor union allies who worked so hard for his 1990 election. On Nov. 8, they should join with other Oklahomans in handing an overwhelming, bipartisan victory to Brenda Reneau. BIOG: NAME:
