ONE of the most important statewide elections may confuse voters who have not yet scrutinized the even-worse-than-usual shenanigans of labor union bosses and their pals.

We refer to the challenge facing incumbent Labor Commissioner Brenda Reneau as she faces J.C. Watts. No, it's not the conservative Republican U.S. Representative, it's his daddy - alas, a liberal Democrat who had the name first.

Our counsel: Voters in southwest Oklahoma (the 4th Congressional District) are encouraged to vote for the guy with the famous name for U.S. Representative - and the gal with the famous mane for labor commissioner. Voters elsewhere in the state are also encouraged to support Brenda Reneau - and to ignore (this time) the guy named Watts.
