BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — The son of former Indiana coach Cam Cameron and a linebacker who originally signed with Notre Dame and was attending school there have committed to play for the Hoosiers this fall.
Indiana coach Kevin Wilson on Friday announced the additions of quarterback Danny Cameron and linebacker Nile Sykes, both freshmen.
Cameron's father coached the Hoosiers from 1997-2001, the Miami Dolphins in 2007 and is now LSU's offensive coordinator. Cameron played at Baton Rouge Catholic.
Sykes signed with Notre Dame in February and started classes there last month, but was granted his request to be released so he will be eligible to play for Indiana this fall. Sykes played at Montini Catholic in Lombard, Ill., last season, making 80 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
