TULSA — Whether you know Matt Frewer as Max Headroom, General Bressler in “Falling Skies,” The Trashcan Man from “The Stand,” the White Night in “Alice,” or Aussie Jim Taggart on “Eureka,” it's certain when you see his lean face, you'll recognize him.

See him in person Friday through Nov. 5 at Darkon Expo at what is now the Tulsa Airport Inn, 2201 N 77th Ave. East in Tulsa. The hotel is in the process of changing its name from the Park Inn by Radisson to a Clarion property.

Darkon Expo is a convention perfect for this time of year, focusing on things scary, horrifying and supernatural.

Frewer headlines the list of celebrities attending the expo. Also on hand will be Kristin Bauer Van Straten (Pam on HBO's “True Blood), Lisa Wilcox (“Nightmare on Elm Street”), Veronica Cartwright (“Revenge,” “Alien,” “Scary Movie 2”), Rick Worthy (“Supernatural,” “Heroes”) and Ed Gale (“Child's Play,” “Spaceballs”). John Ferguson (Oklahoma TV's Count Gregore) will emcee at Darkon.

Frewer recently took time from his packed schedule to chat by telephone from Vancouver, British Columbia. He was preparing to leave to film episodes of “Falling Skies.”

His series “Eureka” had just finished its five-year run, the latest character role in his career.

“I've spent the summer saving the world,” Frewer said. “When you're asked to be on a Steven Spielberg series with aliens, you go do ‘Falling Skies.'”

Frewer, born in Washington, D.C., was raised in Canada and got his actor's training in England. It may be that combination has helped him define his favorite roles.

“I've got a sizzling buffet of roles to select from,” he said, “But it's a tie. It's always the thing I'm working on at the time, Sherlock Holmes and the White Knight.”
