Former OHP pilot among three killed in Alabama plane crash

A former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper who served as a pilot for two state governors was one of three men who died  Wednesday in a plane crash at an Alabama airport.

Killed were William Christopher II, 57, Center Point Ala.; Robin Gary Smith, 60, Yukon, Oklahoma and Kenneth Lynn Rousseau, 67, Harpersville, Ala., authorities said.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says a Westwind II aircraft was trying to depart Huntsville International Airport when it veered from a runway and caught fire.
