NORMAN — Former Oklahoma defensive end and linebacker Albert Qualls died last week.
Qualls, 64, became a professor at Houston’s Texas Southern University after his playing career ended.
Qualls made one of the most memorable plays of his college career in Oklahoma’s 28-27 Bedlam victory in 1969, when he sacked OSU quarterback Bob Cutberth on a 2-point conversion play with 1:15 left.
He played at Oklahoma from 1969-71. His senior year, he started in the “Game of the Century” against Nebraska.
Funeral services for Qualls are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Houston’s Duncan Mortuary.
