NORMAN — Detroit Lions linebacker and former Oklahoma standout Ronnell Lewis was arrested early Saturday morning after an altercation at a bar near the OU campus, according to the Norman Police Department.

Lewis was booked on misdemeanor complaints of disturbing the peace, public intoxication and interfering with official procedure.

According to a Norman Police incident report, Lewis got into a fight at Logan's on the Corner, located on Asp Ave., just north of OU's campus. Police responded at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and arrested Lewis and 23-year old Herve Siviulu.

Lewis appeared in eight games last season for the Lions, recording two tackles.

The former All-Big 12 defensive end signed with Oklahoma out of Dewar, where he was a four-star recruit and the fourth-best linebacker in the recruiting class of 2009, according to Rivals.

Lewis spent his first two seasons at Oklahoma starring mostly on special teams, but developed into an All-Big 12 defensive end as a junior. He chose to skip his senior season and was picked by Detroit in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Lions released a statement to the Detroit Free Press regarding Lewis' arrested, saying, “We are aware of the incident involving Ronnell Lewis. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.” has disabled the comments for this article.
