Several former University of Oklahoma gymnasts will compete in the Pro Gymnastics Challenge on Friday and Saturday at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa. The event will be televised as a three-part series May 20-22 on ESPN2.

The event will be in a team format with competitors doing a “skill vs. skill” challenge as men compete against women for points and prize money.

Former Sooners scheduled to compete in the event include Jonathan Horton, a two-time Olympian and silver medalist; Jacob Dalton, a 2012 Olympian; Steven Legendre; Chris Brooks; and Alex Naddour.

The World Team will be coached by the Svetlana Boguinskaia, a five-time world champion and three-time Olympic gold medalist, while Nastia Liukin will be joined by three-time Olympian Blaine Wilson in coaching Team USA.

SHORT TAKES

— Bedlam will be in full force on television this weekend. The action begins Friday night, when ESPNU broadcasts the OU-OSU baseball game from Tulsa at 7 p.m. At noon Saturday, OU hosts OSU in softball (Mark Neely and Tracy Warren) on Fox Sports Oklahoma. Then baseball takes over with games at 2 p.m. Saturday on FSOK and 1 p.m. Sunday on Fox Sports Plus, both at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Former Hornets TV announcer Bob Licht and Jack Lazorko will call Saturday’s game, and Mike Wolfe and John Holcomb will broadcast Sunday’s game, which is being produced by Cowboy Sports Network and will air on Fox Sports Plus because of a Texas Rangers telecast.
