Former Oklahoma State star James Anderson is in his first season with the Rockets, after two years with the San Antonio Spurs.

How much did you follow OSU this season?

Anderson: “I followed 'em quite a bit. That was pretty good. Got a lot of guys returning, so that'll be even better.”

Were you surprised that Marcus Smart didn't declare for the draft?

“A little, but it was a good decision for him, I guess, obviously, because he made it. I was a little shocked. I thought he would come out, because he definitely would have been a top-five pick.”

How has the transition from San Antonio been?

“I think I've adjusted pretty good. Houston's kind of a big city for me, coming from a small town (Junction City, Ark.). But I've adjusted pretty well. Love the team. Have great fans here. It's been good overall.”

How is Rockets coach Kevin McHale to play for?

“It's been fun. A lot of fun. Learned a lot from him. He's one of the all-time players in the game. To learn a lot of stuff from him, to look up to him and say I played for him is a great thing.”
