Former Oklahoma State star R.W. McQuarters shot in Tulsa

Former Oklahoma State star and NFL player R.W. McQuarters was shot as he left a friend's Tulsa residence early Saturday.

TULSA &mdash Former NFL player R.W. McQuarters was shot early Saturday as he left a friend’s Tulsa residence, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said Sunday afternoon.

McQuarters, who graduated from Booker T. Washington and played football at Oklahoma State, was at a friend’s house in the 1200 block of North Boston Avenue when he walked outside the residence and saw a man standing outside wearing a ski mask, said Tulsa police Sgt. Bill Goree.

The man immediately left the area, Goree said.
