Cochran is scheduled to appear in Payne County District Court on Wednesday. John Coyle III, Cochran's attorney, said his client may face additional charges next week.

Stillwater police continue to investigate the case, which police Capt. Randy Dickerson said may involve an “undetermined number of young men,” some of whom were members of OSU's FarmHouse fraternity. Cochran is a former member of the fraternity.

OSU officials became aware of the alleged assaults on Nov. 12, when several people told the university's Office of Student Conduct they'd been assaulted. University officials didn't notify police. They opened student conduct hearings against Cochran.

Those hearings concluded Nov. 30. Cochran was suspended for three years beginning Friday and ordered to have no conduct with those who brought complaints against him.

Authorities eventually learned about the case through the school's student newspaper.
