Former OSU guard Marcus Smart gets his uniform number with the Boston Celtics

Former Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart looks like he'll be wearing No. 36 for the Boston Celtics.

Smart was picked No. 6 overall in the NBA Draft last week by the storied franchise, and he explained his reason for the number selection.

"3 for the history. 6 for the draft pick #BLEEDGREEN," Smart said via Twitter on Monday.

With the long tradition of winning in Boston, there weren't a ton of premium numbers left over for Smart to choose from. Twenty-one numbers have been retired in Celtics history.

Smart's No. 33 he wore at OSU belongs to Hall of Famer Larry Bird ... so that wasn't really an option.
