Former Oklahoma State and Putnam City High School pitcher Andrew Heaney will make his Major League Baseball debut for the Miami Marlins against the New York Mets in Miami on Thursday.

Heaney, the ninth overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft, has started the season well for the Marlins' minor league affiliates in 2014. The 23-year-old left-hander is 7-2 with a 2.47 earned run average and 69 strikeouts in 76 2/3 innings between Double-A Jacksonville and Triple-A New Orleans.
Heaney is currently the top-ranked prospect in the Marlins' minor-league system according to Baseball America.
