Former OSU running back Herschel Sims pleads not guilty to felony forgery charges

Joined by some family and friends, Sims and his attorney, Rebecca King, entered the plea in a quick 10-minute session. There were no former teammates or coaches in attendance.

Sims is being charged with the two felonies for an incident that took place on April 27, when Sims allegedly took former teammate Jerimiah Tshimanga's ID card, accessed his Stillwater National Bank account and withdrew $500 and $200, just hours apart, according to the police report.

In an interview at the OSU Police Department on May 30, Sims admitted to using the victim's ID card and forging his signature to withdraw the money.

Sims was officially charged with the crimes on June 5, four days after he was dismissed from the OSU football team by Mike Gundy.

During Thursday's arraignment, Sims' attorney said the running back no longer goes to Oklahoma State and plans to attend a school in Texas next semester.

District Judge Phillip Corley set Sims' bail at $1,000.

Immediately after the arraignment, Sims was fingerprinted and processed, before posting bail and being released.

He will next appear on July 11 at 1:45 p.m.
