The former chief financial officer of Quest Energy Partners LP was sentenced today to 16 years in prison for defrauding the company out of $1 million.

David Grose was convicted on three counts of wire fraud in February in federal court in Oklahoma City.

Grose, 58, maintains he has done nothing wrong and intends to appeal his conviction.

He said former Quest CEO Jerry Dale Cash directed him to invest $1 million of the company's money in a startup company.

Grose was convicted of wire fraud after a jury heard evidence he canceled a $1 million pipeline order in 2008 then diverted the money to the startup company.

Cash, who pleaded guilty to filing a false quarterly report, was sentenced earlier this month to nine years in prison.

Both men will begin serving their prison terms in early 2011.
