— Workers from Midwest Wrecking Co. took down the Tammy's Laundry building, at Littler Avenue and Hurd Street, on Tuesday in preparation for construction of a public safety center in downtown Edmond.

Midwest Wrecking Co. first tore down the former Chase Motor Bank, at Second Street and Littler Ave.

City officials are making way for a new home for police headquarters, the 911 communication center and emergency operations. Plans are to go out for bids April 25, and the construction contract is to be awarded June 10.
