Former Tulsa Public Schools athletic director Stephanie Spring was released from federal prison on Tuesday morning after completing a seven-month sentence for pocketing funds from off-the-books rentals of school facilities.

According to Chris Burke, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Spring was taken into custody Jan. 7 and spent her entire sentence in a minimum security camp at Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.

In November, U.S. District Judge John Dowdell sentenced Spring to seven months in prison and five months on home detention upon her release.

Spring also was ordered to pay $92,218.72 in restitution as well as a $10,000 fine.
