Fort Sill soldier faces trial for alleged sexual assault of fellow soldier

Phillip O'Connor Published: January 22, 2014

A court-martial of a Fort Sill soldier accused of sexually assaulting a fellow soldier while deployed to South Korea is scheduled to begin today.

Spc. Justin L. Vetter faces allegations that he had sex with a soldier who was incapable of consent  due to impairment. Vetter, who is married, also is charged with conduct that prejudices good order and discipline and brings discredit upon the armed forces for having sex with a woman who was not his wife.

The trial, scheduled to last two days, comes at a time when the military is struggling with the issue of sexual misconduct in the ranks.
