Norman foundation accepts entries for tree photo competition

NORMAN — Five judges, including three professional photographers, have been selected for the Norman Park Foundation’s annual tree photo contest.

Amateur and professional photographers can submit entries from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Legends Times Two, 1333 W Lindsey St. The juried show will hang at First Fidelity Bank, 131 E Main St., from Nov. 16 through Dec. 11. Prize money totals $1,600.

Judges will be Bob Goins, a University of Oklahoma professor emeritus who has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture and in regional and city planning.

Tom Lee, a professional photographer whose medium is traditional black and white silver-based film and paper.

Charles Rushton, a professional photographer who has a master of fine arts in photography and has taught photography.

Shevaun Williams, who owns a commercial photography studio in downtown Norman.

Photographers statewide are eligible to enter the contest, which is in its fifth year, chairwoman Joyce Pitchlynn said.

Awards will be presented to winners at a reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 11, which coincides with Norman’s annual art walk.
