Four dead after Oklahoma accidents

Four people died in traffic accidents Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Brenda Fletcher, 62, of St. John, Kan.

Plez Malone Jr., 68, of Clinton

About 7:15 a.m., Fletcher, who was wearing a seat belt, was traveling southbound on U.S. 183 in Dewey County, about a mile south of Taloga. Fletcher’s car crashed head-on into Malone’s pickup in the northbound lane. Fletcher and Malone died at the scene, troopers said. Malone was not wearing a seat belt.

James Riley England Jr., 68, of Miami, OK

Shortly before 5 p.m., the semi-trailer England drove went down two embankments and crashed, troopers said.

England, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Mark D. Baggs, 51, of Battiest

Baggs was mowing about 8:10 p.m. in a ditch on the south side of a county road in McCurtain County.

The tractor hit a roadside culvert, causing the tractor to overturn and pin Baggs, trooper said.

Baggs died at the scene, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
