The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Wayne Police Department are investigating a quadruple fatality wreck that happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 77, two miles north of Wayne.

Patrol Capt. Chris West said four people died in the crash and two more were taken to a hospital by helicopter.

Those killed were Trulie Beason, 36, of Lexington; Cody Simmons, 22, of Purcell; Gregory Haegele, 48, of Elk City; and a fourth victim who had not been identified by troopers.

The driver of the 2004 Dodge pickup, Jordan Powell, 23, of Wayne, and a passenger, Rebecca Sisca, age unknown, were taken to OU Medical Center by helicopter in serious condition.

Troopers said the pickup ran off the road into a culvert where it struck an embankment and overturned, throwing out all of the passengers. Powell was the only occupant of the pickup wearing a seat belt.

Troopers have not determined the cause of the accident.
