Four die after Oklahoma roads, troopers report

Larry Joseph Kloer, 64, of Fletcher, Jon Z. Larson, 40, of Dill City, David Merrill, 46, of Canton, and Geary Smith, 66, of McAlester, died after separate crashes on Oklahoma road, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

David Merrill Blood, 46, Canton

About 5:30 p.m. Friday, Blood, who was not wearing a helmet, was driving an all-terrain vehicle south on Major County Road 230. The vehicle overturned during a left turn onto East West 53 and rolled, troopers said. Merrill was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he died Saturday.

Geary Smith, 66, McAlester

About 6:35 p.m. Monday, Smith was driving west on State Highway 31, just east of Krebs in Pittsburg County The pickup he was driving went left of center and crashed into an eastbound vehicle, troopers said. Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
