Four people died Monday and Tuesday in vehicle accidents on state roads, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

David Michael Bethune, 70, of Oologah

About 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, Bethune was trying to remove a disabled vehicle in a ditch on his Rogers County property, about a mile and a half east of Oologah, when he walked behind his Jeep and was struck by the vehicle when it rolled backward over him and off a 120-foot cliff, according to a patrol report.

Bethune died at the scene, troopers said.

Donald Richard Moore, 39, of Pauls Valley

About 11 p.m. Monday, Moore was riding a motorcycle north on Interstate 35, about two miles north of Pauls Valley in Garvin County, when the bike went off the road, struck a culvert and slid into a ditch as Moore was exiting onto the Kimberlin Road off-ramp, according to the patrol report.

Moore died at the scene, troopers said. He was not wearing a helmet.

Kenneth A. Berard Jr. 22, of Joplin, Mo.

Berard, a passenger in an Ottawa County car crash, was dead on arrival at a Joplin hospital of massive head injuries, the patrol reported.

The crash happened about 7:55 p.m. Monday, two miles north and nine miles east of Quapaw on a county road, the patrol reported.
