/> How has the crop of junior-college transfers from the 2008 recruiting class performed so far?

Head coach Mike Gundy says they're about on track compared to most junior-college transfers, and he says this is the time you generally begin seeing more contributions from them. Saturday was an important game for them, because several got extensive playing time. Defensive tackle Chris Donaldson and linebacker Donald Booker both played well, combining for 13 tackles.

Cornerback Maurice Gray got beat for Missouri State's only touchdown, but otherwise the group is fitting well into the Cowboys' plans.

After taking this week off, what kind of challenge can the Cowboys expect from Troy on Sept. 27 at Boone Pickens Stadium?

It's hard to read the Trojans. They rank 11th nationally in total offense and seventh in total defense, but they've done it against Middle Tennessee State and Alcorn State. Their Sept. 6 game against LSU was postponed, and they play Ohio State on Saturday.

Maybe we'll know more then, maybe not. If they get whipped by the two-time defending BCS runners-up, there's no guarantee that we'll know any more than we do now, which isn't much.
