As for the two offensive assistant positions, Gundy doesn’t necessarily have to get in a big hurry with his timetable to fill them. Because of recruiting restrictions on how many coaches can be on the road recruiting at one time, it isn’t imperative to have a full staff.
Gundy is at the AFCA convention in Nashville, so that presents plenty of opportunities for interviews and other research on candidates.
Recruiting coordinator Robert Matthews is still considered a candidate for one of the openings, possibly as running backs coach, though nothing is certain yet.
