Franck lifts Blazers to win Blazers 3, Mississippi 1

Oklahoma City goaltender Andy Franck was in an unusual position Friday night but showed he was up to the task.

Franck stopped 34 of 35 shots in leading the Blazers to a 3-1 Central Hockey League road victory at Mississippi.
It was the first time the Blazers were outshot this season as Mississippi had 29 shots on goal through two periods compared to Oklahoma City’s 13. Mississippi outshot the Blazers 35-20 for the game.
Oriel McHugh scored the game-winner in the second period on a power-play goal.
First star: Franck, who has still been in the net for every minute this season for Oklahoma City.
Second star:Ted Vandermeer. The forward scored in the third period, his fourth goal of the season, and added an assist.
Third star: Oriel McHugh. The defenseman had an assist to go with his second game-winning goal of the season.
