Luckenbach, Texas, is down a short and winding road from Fredericksburg. The hamlet extolled in song by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson is home to numerous events, dances and pickers circles. Billy Joe Shaver and Asleep at the Wheel are among those scheduled to play there this month.

Wildseed Farms is the largest working wildflower farm in the country. It includes a market, and the Fredericksburg Herb Farm, a celebration of scent and color featuring formal gardens, a tea room, retail shops and a spa.
