Free 'Blackwatch Christmas Vol. II' showcases local musicians

A free release party is set for Friday night at STASH in downtown Norman.

Fowler VW and Blackwatch Studios are offering local music fans a chance to download a free collection of original seasonal songs and covers of classic carols by central Oklahoma musicians.

“A Blackwatch Christmas Vol. II” features 10 tracks by local acts such as Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Graham Colton, Mike Hosty Duo, Dead Sea Choir, Jacob Abello, Parker Millsap, Brine Webb, Denver Duncan and Hector Comancho.

In addition, 1,000 vinyl copies of the album were produced and will be given away at Bad Granny's Bazaar, Collected Thread, DNA Galleries and Guestroom Records locations.

A free release party, featuring artists that contributed songs to the compilation, is set for 8 p.m. Friday at STASH, 412 E Main Street in downtown Norman.
