Oklahomans in need of health services can attend a free event this weekend for dental, vision and some medical care. Remote Area Medical Oklahoma expects to serve 1,600 people on Saturday and Sunday as it provides free dental, vision and limited medical care from licensed volunteer health professionals on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of income. Services include dental cleanings, fillings or extractions, eye exams and a pair of glasses made on site, as well as women's health care, including pap tests and vouchers for free mammograms, tobacco cessation and behavioral health care. Remote Area Medical volunteers will start handing out numbers for the line about 3 a.m. and will open doors at 6 a.m. both days. The event is at the Oklahoma Expo Hall on the north side of State Fair Park near the Space Tower. The address is 333 Gordon Cooper Blvd.

Authorities identify dead man
NEWKIRK — Authorities have identified the person found dead in an abandoned trailer in Kay County as Lewis Heath Stanley, 36. An affidavit alleges Stanley was beaten to death Aug. 4, and his body was later moved to the abandoned trailer near Ponca City. Authorities discovered his body Monday. Prosecutors have charged Jared James Bales, 32, with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and battery and unauthorized removal of a dead body. The court has not yet appointed an attorney for Bales. His bail is set at $1 million.
